Hello everyone!

As most of you have noticed this blog has kind of been going inactive, not to worry. I’m back. So count, who is actually still following this blog? If you are please leave some comments.

If you haven’t then get in the act and subscribe.

If you have no clue then we are a school blog covering the events of what happens in Qatar Academy – Doha, Qatar.

Now for the reasons, I had exams so I was not bothered. But now I am bothered.

What do you want me to write about?

Should I be going more like Student Life or should I be blabbing about summer hoilday?

Macbook or Macbook Air? iPod Touch or Classic? Is Apple giving us too many choices April 22, 2008

Just today, my friend asked me: Should I get a Macbook or Macbook Air? My friend wants his small music library and the internet and a nice looking laptop hassle free. He also wants gaming. So the Macbook Air is great, too bad it is not strong enough for FPS gaming. What is the solution?

The same with the iPods. I want an iPod that has all the fancy touch features and the basic Classic layout + the big storage. So we have a solution, buy an iPod Classic & Touch. Why can’t Apple combine both? an iPod Bundle or something.

I found a really good article over at Gizmodo about this. Click Here.

The question remains unanswered. Steve Jobs please add a comment and make this clear. PLEASE, I agree Windows sucks. What more do you want?

How to fix your Teddy Bear April 9, 2008

I sailed the web and I found this. It is stupid yet good. For the record I do have a teddy bear.

How to Refurbish a Teddy Bear

from wikiHow – The How to Manual That You Can Edit
After being subjected to years of relentless hugging, squishing and being dragged through the dirt, your teddy bear will harbour grime that it has accumulated over the years, will have failing seams through which the stuffing is falling out, and won’t be soft and cuddly anymore. But no teddy is ready for the trash; your teddy can likely be rehabilitated and made ready for the next generation, as this 25 year old bear was.

Steps

  1. Open a straight seam very carefully if your bear does not already have a hole in a seam through which you can remove the stuffing (such as the back seam). Use a pair of scissors, a very sharp knife or a seam ripper to cut the seam thread. Remove all of the stuffing and discard.
  2. Hand-wash the now empty fur in warm water very gently with a gentle laundry detergent. Rinse well with warm water. Repeat these steps as necessary, until the wash water no longer becomes coloured with the dirt that may come out of the fur. Gently squeeze (do not wring!) the fur to remove most of the water.
  3. Remove the excess water by placing an old towel on the floor, placing the bear on the towel, folding the towel over the bear, then standing on it. This will squeeze excess water from the fur without wringing it, which could damage the fabric.
  4. Blow dry the bear with a blow dryer, being careful not to scorch the fur. Allow it to further air dry overnight to ensure the seams are completely dry.
  5. Tease out the matted knots if the bear’s fur was matted, after the bear is dry. A dental pick works well. Work the pick through the knots, being careful not to pull the fur out.
  6. Turn the teddy bear inside out to examine each seam for holes and to examine the thread which may be, if the teddy bear is very old, weak and rotten. Sew the holes closed and reinforce the seams as needed, using either a needle and thread or a sewing machine. If a needle and thread is used, be sure to place the stitches close together and pull each stitch tight.
  7. Turn the bear right side out. Examine the seams and areas you’ve stitched to ensure the seams are tight and the stitches are invisible from the outside. Tight seams are crucial!
  8. Replace missing eyes if necessary. Buttons work well.
  9. Fill each of the legs and arms using a ball of polyester fiberfill approximately 6 times the size of the volume of the cavity to be filled, packing each very tightly. Using one ball for each arm and leg is better than filling them with many smaller balls of fiberfill.
  10. Fill the head and body cavity, using one large clump of fiberfill for each. Pack tightly, ensuring there is enough fiberfill to make the arm, leg and neck joints firm.
  11. Sew the seam closed that you’ve packed the fiberfill through.
  12. Comb the fur to make it fluffy.
  13. Take care of your newly refurbished teddy. It’ll be good for decades to come.

The finished teddy.

And do take good care of your bear.

Tips

  • If your bear does not have a hole that needs to be repaired through which you can remove the stuffing, be sure to make a hole just big enough to remove the stuff, as you will have to sew this hole closed when you are finished.
  • Use a heavy duty thread. Our example bear was stitched with a thread suitable for sewing denim.
  • When sewing with a needle and thread, use an overcasting stitch.

Warnings

  • Do not wring the water out of the fur! Doing so will damage the fur.
  • Use a thimble if sewing with a needle and thread.

Things You’ll Need

  • Heavy duty thread, in a colour similar to the colour of the teddy bear
  • A fine pick, such as the dental instrument illustrated
  • Needle or sewing machine
  • Scissors
  • Thimble (if sewing with a needle and thread)
  • A bag of polyester fiberfill (approximately 6 times the size of the bear)

As we have reported earlier, the space campers went way. But I regret to say, the return trip (on board the Airbus A321) has crashed midair to Qatar. There are unfortunately no survivers. Details are rare, but according to our in house pilot the crash was as a result of a static electricity surge. What does that mean I dunno. Please check the video for a detailed explanation. But for some reason I was able to make contact with a student via IM (our life) and she was fine. Authorities are still tracking that line, a potential beacon to lead us to the will trained survival space campers yah right. We are really sad for Yousef yah right again, only because he promised to write about it when he got back. As we must as assume that his moment came, I would like to pose a moment of silence for his brave soul.

Space Campers are away. If you do not know what am I talking about this is the Grade 7 trip to Turkey to learn more about space. Yousef has went with them. So do not expect anything from him not that he has done much lately. And of the record, remaining 7th graders are saying that the space campers are nerds. I do not really agree because I know people like Yousef just did it to miss school. So do you think that the remaining students are jealous or honest?

Yes I know it is babyish. But I like them they are so fun! Here for example:

Bad Boy

Now Yousef might not like that, but I do and I guess everyone else does. So I am just saying this stuff is sweet. Ok so I like picking at Yousef but that is not the reason I am posting. It is because I find Bitstrips an amazing website and I love to share it with my fellow peers (Yah right). Seriously, just try it its nice.
